AbbottVision is a unique independent production company with an attached writers’ studio, established in 2008 by the multi award-winning writer, creator and producer Paul Abbott. AbbottVision has been listed as one of the top 20 names in broadcasting and described by The Guardian as “an innovative model for the creation and production of world-class drama”.
Paul’s shows have clocked up 16 Award Wins & 20 nominations, including a PrimeTime Emmy, BAFTAs, RTS awards and he received the Dennis Potter BAFTA award for Lifetime Achievement.
Paul is perhaps best known for Shameless, a hugely successful black comedy he created for Channel 4, in the UK and the 11 season US remake starring William H Macey is multi-Emmy winning and has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. In total, Shameless US received 16 award wins and 69 nominations.
Paul was also the writer behind State of Play, a British political thriller first broadcast on BBC One in 2003 that went on to a major Hollywood remake starring Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams and directed by Kevin Macdonald.
AbbottVision was set up by Paul in 2008 and has made shows including Wolfe, Hit & Miss, Exile and the acclaimed Channel 4 series No Offence.
